Lab Animal Medicine internship

I wanted to know if anyone here has done an internship in Lab Animal Medicine in the US? And do you have any suggestions of what qualities most laboratories look for in such a candidate? I've been thinking about it for while now, since I have substantial lab animal experience. I know this tends to be a field people are reluctant to go into.

I'm not sure if there's an internship but I know there is definitely a clerkship we can take for 2 weeks at the university of florida so maybe you could start there, a friend of mine is looking to go inot lab animals so I can get some contact informatino for you tomorrow.
